A Ride, A Flight, and a Whole Lot of Fun – Iberian Quest at Axarquía Airport

Updated: Jun 2

At Iberian Quest, our motorcycle tours are about more than just clocking miles on the road — they’re about creating unforgettable experiences, blending our love of riding with other passions that bring us joy… like flying in a helicopter, for example.

During a recent photoshoot, we made a special stop at the scenic Axarquía Airport in Trapiche — officially known as Leoni Benabu Aerodrome. Just three kilometers north of Vélez-Málaga’s city center, this small but vibrant airport is home to the Real Aeroclub de Málaga and a community of around 70 light aircraft. It’s a hub for sport aviation, flight training, and now, a launchpad for a new dimension of adventure in our tours.

Thanks to our collaboration with the World Aviation Group, we’re thrilled to offer our guests an incredible aerial experience — a helicopter flight over the stunning Axarquía region. This unique addition gives riders a chance to swap two wheels for rotor blades and see the Andalusian landscape from a breathtaking new perspective.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an Iberian Quest day without a bit of motorcycle flair. Our motocross rider Fran showed off some skills, proving that yes — you can pull a wheelie on a Yamaha Ténéré. The moment was perfectly captured by the talented Kurt Stallaert (check out his work at www.kurtstallaert.com), who made sure every jump, smile, and scenic frame was documented in style.

At Iberian Quest, it’s about the journey and the extras — the things that make every ride memorable. Come for the roads, stay for the unexpected.
